Driving School Terms & Conditions

We advise all clients to speak with us by email or telephone communication if you have any questions 'before' making an online payment.

Rule #1 Don’t apologise, you are LEARNING.

Rule #2 No question is a stupid question

The Instructor: Will take care and consideration to keeping the pupil safe in a well maintained car that is fitted with dual control pedals and fully insured.

Will follow the ADI code of practice. Full details can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/ publications/driving-instructor-code-of-practice/ approved-driving-instructor-adi-code-of. practice.

Is an ADI who is committed to Continuing professional development(CPD) by at least a minimum of 1 day of CPD each year.

Will be on time unless it is unavoidable, and will notify you if that is the case. You will be given the option to rearrange at no cost to yourself, or take a later lesson if possible.

The Pupil: Must be a current holder of a valid provisional licence and able to read a number plate at the required distance of 20.5 meters (approx 5 car lengths) without/with glasses, if normally worn.

Once you have downloaded your app, please complete and save your profile once you have access, otherwise the instructor will not have an address to turn up to. (The bank account for lesson fee transfers is under the resources section if you scroll down.)

You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs as it is illegal to operate a vehicle while under the influence. Any pupil suspected of being under the influence will have tuition withdrawn on the day with loss of the lesson fee. If a pupil needs to rearrange a lesson, they must give a minimum of 48hrs notice (Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays do not count).  If  a cancellation is within 48 hours the student will be liable for the lesson fee if the instructor can not refill the lesson. This charge is in place to protect the instructor who cannot replace your booking at short notice. Would you expect a refund for festival tickets within 48hrs?

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. Communication saves disappointment.

Students who have block booked:  Block bookings are to be redeemed on consecutive weeks unless prior agreement is made.

Students who are coming up to their practical test date and needing extra time, may get priority on lesson slots.

The Money Bit: The lesson fee is due the Saturday before the date/time the lesson is booked for.

If it is not paid in time your lesson will be cancelled and given to another current student to use.

If the lesson fee is late again, with no good reason communicated you will lose your place permanently as a student.

If for whatever reason you stop having driving tuition, and lesson credits remain they are refunded minus the standard hourly rate for lessons delivered within 14 days. Details for an account will be requested for that purpose. If details are not provided within 14 days then the remaining lesson credits will be lost.

If you are going to do a semi intensive course 50% of the course cost must be paid to secure it within 14 days of the course invoice being received. You may only cancel at no charge 14 days before the course start date. 14 days before the start date the full balance must be paid or you will forfeit any costs already paid.

If an unavoidable problem arises on yours or the instructors ability to meet pre-booked dates it may be possible to reschedule the course for a future date without loosing your fee.

The DVSA Practical Test Booking fee is £62.  If the booking is made by Green Life  Driving the DVSA fee will be paid to hold the booking there and then.  The student will reimburse Green Life Driving within 7 days of the practical test being booked. If the tuition car is used for the practical test, the car fee is a set charge of £72. The practical test will be booked in by the instructor after a discussion in car to make sure the time and date are suitable for both parties. (The exception would be if a student chooses to use their own car.) The test results will go to the Green Life Driving email,  or your own if you require. You have the option for you and your instructor to view them together after the test has finished and forwarded on if you would like a copy.

Covid 19 and other illness;      Your instructor will expect you to make contact:

• If you or anyone in your household has become unwell or has symptoms of COVID

• If you or anyone in your household has been tested in the last week

• If you believe you may have been in contact with someone showing symptoms

If a member of your household is vulnerable you can request for a face covering to be worn on each lesson.

Before your lesson please make sure that you wash your hands with soap and water following the government guidelines. Your instructor will be happy to provide you with a face covering to use for each lesson. You are welcome to supply your own face covering. The car will be sanitised between each student and all touch points of the car cleaned. Should you or your instructor show new symptoms during the lesson, the lesson will be terminated. The car windows will be open, weather permitting, so please dress appropriately.

We advise all clients to speak with us by email or telephone communication if you have any questions 'before' making an online payment.

By booking a lesson(s) you indicate you have accepted these terms and conditions. Please do not book if you are not happy to be bound by them.
